Cepal is thoroughly committed to be fully compliant with the Code of Conduct of the Bank of Greece (BoG), as well as other relevant regulatory provisions governing its operating framework.
The Code of Conduct sets out to establish the general principles of conduct for both credit institutions and for borrowers, taking into account the specificities of each borrower in order to design the best possible solution on a case-per-case basis.
The framework which is defined by the BoG aims to inform and protect the borrowers, as well as serve as a communications guideline for credit institutions.
The company has the obligation to include at Stage 3 of the A.R.P. the borrower that submits on his own initiative, the information required by the Code for the assessment of the ability for repayment of his/her debts, regardless of whether he/she is subject to the exceptions of:
i) Contract claim already terminated before 1/1/2015
ii) Claim against borrower who has filed an application under Law 3869/2010 for which a hearing has been set.
It is noted that in cases of borrowers under management, entrusted by Institutions supervised by the Bank of Greece, the implementation of the A.R.P. stages. of the Code of Conduct is carried out on a case-by-case basis by the relevant supervised Institutions.
